Strictly speaking Sumangla is the best horse in the bunch, but has not been running well after it won this month last year. The fact is after winning two races in July 2011 and Aug 2011 it won again in July 2012. It has not performed really well after that. A spurt was reported by India Race.com as well as racing pulse on 25.07.2013 but is not to be seen in Bol Race or the official site of kolkotta. If the horse is fit it just cannot loose. The choice of jockey looks positive as it is being ridden by B Mahesh who is a top weight jockey wherein there would be negligible dead weight. If not the choice would be Haynestown, Ijlal and Deccan Princess any one of them can win.
Azorian originally was owned by Mr. Deepak Khaitan. it ran 8 times under his ownership winning twice, finishing second once, finishing third four times and finishing off the board once (fifth). It won as a 40 rated animal and then finished twice third as a 58 rated animal. Then it was puechased by Mr. Rishi Anand and ran 12 times the best effort being a fourth. In the process it has come down from 58 to 22 rating and now running in the lowest class with the local champion in the saddle I dont see the horse would get beat. It has some good work also to boast off. Back Azorian as a good thing.
Shamrock, Self Directed and Greased Lightning may fight it out.
An avoidable race.
Royal Honour has gone from strength to strength after shifting its campaign from western india to eastern india. I feel it will win easily.
Gallop to Glory and Ace Elegance should fight it out.
Out of the three starts Anassa had, once it was beaten squarely by Double Doo (already won once earlier). Its second start drifted out to the sand track and lost the race very narrowly and won its third start comfortably. I will back it as a good thing.
Best bet of the Day: ANASSA
Second best:ROYAL HONOUR
Third best: AZORIAN
