An out and out thumb rule race wherin any horse can win. Better avoid.
I do not know whether you have noticed or not that more often than not jockey Suraj Narredu goes soft on his mount when a Irfan Ghatala trained horse comes alongside. This is what I feel has happned to Moneyball in its last run when The Scientist came alongside. Hence, I feel that Moneyball will win today and should be backed.
Another thumb rule race, but, here I want to make an exception. The way President's Rule covered ground in the last 100 m was commendable. At the bend there was a difference of just 1/2 length between the winner and Presidents Rule, but, superior riding skills saw Wind Tunnel putting a gap of 4 lengths in the next 200 m which was finally reduced to about a length at the wire. If you pay attention to the commentator you will observe that he comments that " Wind Tunnel is going to win from the fast finishing Potomac then comes Presidents Rule and Autumn Red " but Potomac could finish only third a length behind Presidents Rule. Hence, I am going to bet on Presidents Rule today.
This is a race where no allowance can be claimed. Ace Lexington ran such a peach of a race last time in its first maiden start but has been entrusted to an apprentice, otherwise, it would have been a betting proposition.
Loveofmylife won so well, but, surprisingly there is a change in equipment taht too "Blinkers on". Still it is my first choice. Perfect Soul also has been working well and may go close.
I select Super Storm over others for the following reasons. i) It is the only 4 year old in the field. ii) All said and done it has won the richest race in the country that is The Indian Derby.
Smithsonite, after a long lay off has won both its starts quite well and it becomes the first choice to win this race. The only danger I see is Mister India who before coming to Bangalore has won 5 times out of seven starts and placed second twice in Delhi.
Looks to be an open affair with Royal Rein, Noble Reward, Adriphos and Peter Parker seem to be the main contenders here. However, I personally will make a bet on Peter Parker as it has run a forward race last time and is running with about 10 kgs of advantage when compared to Royal Rein.
Better Than Ever was rated three points below Smithsonite in its last run and ran a good second. Today Smithsonite is rated at 69 and has a very good chance of winning and Better Than Ever is at 36 a good 33 points less a difference of 15 kgs. I am going to make Better Than Ever my best bet of the day.
Best Bet of the day: BETTER THAN EVER
Second best: PRESIDENTS RULE
Third best:: PETER PARKER
